Becoming Her

She didn’t arrive all at once.
She unfolded
through late-night tears
and early morning courage.
Through boundaries she never knew she could set,
and truths she stopped apologising for.

Becoming her
meant leaving behind
versions of herself
that only knew how to survive.

It meant walking into rooms
with shaky confidence
but showing up anyway.

She traded perfection for presence.
Hustle for healing.
Pleasing for peace.

And in the mirror,
she stopped asking, “Am I enough?”
and started saying,
“I am becoming. And that is more than enough.”

She is still soft.
Still learning.
Still rising.
But now
she knows who she is.

She is no longer becoming who they wanted.
She is becoming her.

Fully.
Freely.
Finally.
